Today we are here to discuss the soon to be released One Piece Episode 938. Fans are really excited about the episode since we’re quickly approaching very dramatic events.
When we watch weekly, the Wano arc does feel somewhat slow and spread out. The manga readers had the same experience – they realized that binge reading the chapters make it lot better than weekly reading. There is a reason for this.
It mostly comes down to Wano Act 2. This part has a lot of plot threads progressing towards 1 singular point simultaneously. The screentime is divided between all these points and hence the slower progression. For example, Impel Down Arc had 2 threads – Luffy and Ace. Wano has more than 5! That’s why binging can be beneficial.

One Piece Episode 937 Recap:
In Udon, Luffy is impressed by Hyo’s display of Haki. The old man explains that in Wano, Haki is known as Ryuo, which means ‘flow’. Haki is an energy that flows through the body. So Hyo instructs Luffy to feel his haki flowing through his body. Luffy’s task is to channel unused Haki in his body to his fists. His training begins.
Meanwhile, Chopper and his group has already entered the Udon region, approaching the prison. Big Mom is extremely hungry for Oshiruko. In Ebisu Town, Tonoyasu talks to Shinobu and Kanjuro. He addresses them casually and discusses the coded message to meet on Habu Port!
Tonoyasu promises to gather more men for the cause. He knows about Orochi finding out and thus, thinks of an alternative. As he leaves, both Shinobu and Kanjuro admit that they don’t recognize the fellow. Tonoyasu goes around the town, taking care of everyone.
In Udon, Luffy trains; he is struggling to make his haki flow. In Ebisu town, Tonoyasu distributes money. His daughter works at the capital and sends him money. This daughter is actually O-Toko, the girl currently being hunted by Orochi. Zoro saved Hiyori and O-Toko from Kamazo.
It’s nighttime at Udon – Luffy neither has opponents to train, nor has food to eat. He knocks out the guards and talks to Hyo about his plans of being the King of Pirates. Strangely, Hyo recognizes Roger’s name. That is when Raizo and Caribou appear. Raizo informs Hyo about their whole plan.
Caribou promises Luffy that he has changed and wants to tag along in his ship when they leave Wano. Hyo explains that Udon prison has a lot of people who have captured because they went against Orochi – these men will agree to help with the raid.
In Udon, Luffy and Hyo plans to liberate the prisoners. But before that, they will feast on the bucket of Oshiruko stolen by Caribou. Chopper arrives at Udon with Big Mom and the rest. In Flower Capital, Tonoyasu is captured by guards.
One Piece Episode 938 Spoilers:
One Piece Episode 938 is titled “Shaking the Nation! The Identity of Ushimitsu Kozo the Chivalrous Thief!”. The preview shows Tonoyasu captured – he is suspected to be Ushimitsu Kozo, a thief who takes from the rich and gives to the poor. Orochi is angered and talks to Fukurokujo. Luffy has eaten all the Oshiruko and grown fat. Brook discovers Zoro sleeping with Hiyori and O-Toko next to him. Zoro learns about Orochi’s evil schemes. O-Toko runs away to meet her convicted father.
One Piece Episode 938 and 939 will be very bumpy ones. We will get to know about Tonoyasu and who he is. So far, all his actions show that he is a great man. Even him being Ushimitsu Kozo, the chivalrous thief makes him a great person. But Orochi seems angry and the final scene hints towards some kind of severe punishment.
What is this evil scheme of Orochi? How will it affect our heroes and their upcoming raid? It seems like Zoro will follow O-Toko to the capital to save Tonoyasu. Maybe we will get to know why he recognizes Shinobu and Kanjuro. Meanwhile, Luffy has to win the Sumo Inferno, master Advanced Armament Haki, handle Big Mom and also liberate the prison. We believe now that Momo is here, it will be a simpler task.

One Piece Episode 938 will be released on August 23, 2020. It airs on Sunday Morning in Japan, courtesy of Fuji TV. In South Korea, the Korean broadcasting service does the job of broadcasting the show on TV. You can also stream One Piece on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
