While the series gave us a wholesome romance, it also showed us how two completely opposite people have different approaches to something.

The pessimistic Hachiman helps people because he considers himself an outcast, while Yukino helps others out of pity and a weird sense of duty.

The light novel ended in April 2021 with the victory of all Yukino-Hachiman shippers. As for those who were rooting for Yui, they got a bitter-sweet ending of their own.

But that just made us love the second lead Yui even more. For all those Yui fans who were left hanging, we finally have some good news for you.

Shogakukan announced a spin-off light novel series for My Youth Romantic Comedy SNAFU that will begin publishing from September 17, 2021.

The new light novel series is titled ‘Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Yui’ (My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected. Connection).

Author and illustrator of the original series, Wataru Watari and Ponkan8 are teaming up again for this upcoming series.

The whole series will be centered around the character Yui Yuigahama. The plot revealed by Shogakukan implied that Yui still holds the same intense feelings towards Hachiman. Even though he and Yui will never be a thing, she wants to atleast hold onto those feelings for longer.

The original series was from Hachiman’s point of view. In this upcoming one, we might get Yui’s perspective on the whole thing. Her character is known to be friendly and kind, but everyone has their flaws. Her biggest shortcoming is being unable to express herself.

It’s not shown in the main series if she holds an intense grudge or resentment against Yukino for ending up with Hachiman. This spin-off series might offer us a more realistic side of Yui, like her being jealous as any person would be.

We all tend to root for the side characters more than the protagonists in a romance anime, like Onodera from Nisekoi or Minori from Toradora!

Similarly, we all fell in love with Yui and can’t wait to see her side of the story too!

About My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Written by Wataru Watari and Illustrated by Ponkan8, this story was adapted into a manga thrice. It was picked up for an animated adaptation by Brain’s Base. Still, it was animated by Feel Studio in its second season.

This anime is of the slice of life genre featuring the story of the pragmatic highschooler Hachiman Hikigaya.

He is forced to be a part of a Service Club by his teacher alongside Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama. Despite having wildly different personalities and beliefs, they offer help to those in need.
