Original Sports Anime Taiso Samurai Releases New PV and Visual

MAPPA is famous for Yuri!! On Ice, the cute and detailed ice-skating themed anime. It also has Hajime no Ippo: Rising, coming up soon.
The next anime by MAPPA is based on gymnastics. Gymnastics has not been particularly portrayed in anime yet. Thus it is sure to be a refreshing experience.
A new trailer for the Taiso Samurai anime has just been released on the official website of the anime. The anime will premiere on 10th October in Japan.
The trailer starts with Shotaro, our protagonist, struggling as a gymnast. He is advised by his coach to retire, however, he is reluctant to let go of his career.
Shots of Rei, Shotaro’s daughter, cheering him on can be seen.
He goes through strenuous training in the latter part of the video to build himself up. The other characters like Leonardo, Tetsuo, and Noriyuki, Shotaro’s coach, also participate in the trailer.

A new visual has also been released for the upcoming anime.
The visual contains Shotaro, Leonardo, Tetsuo, and Rei. The background is filled with gymnastic equipment as well as random household stuff.

About Taiso Samurai
In the year 2002, the formerly powerful Japanese men’s gymnastics team member Shoutarou Aragaki is no longer able to compete.
Even though he trained strenuously daily, he is asked about retiring by his coach Amakusa. However, a certain encounter alters Aragaki’s fate.
