Will there be a Parasyte Season 2 anytime soon? It has been 7 years since Parasyte: The Maximum last aired and fans want to know if the series has been canceled or will return soon.
The anime Parasyte: The Maximum got an 8.2 of 10 rating on IMDb, 4.4 of 5 rating on Rottentomatoes, and 4.8 of 5 on Crunchyroll.
During its release, Parasyte was in a league of its own. It had various levels of plot twists that no one expected. The change in the main character’s life and his personality takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions.
First, how Shinichi had a caring personality to someone with almost no emotion and a cold-hearted fighter made fans more intrigued by how the story progresses forward.
The fight scenes always release a surge of dopamine and serotonin in our bloodstream as both the main character and Migi try finding ways to win battles almost always unfavorable for them.
Parasyte: The Maximum was an extremely captivating manga with great character development and depth. Each chapter ended with a cliffhanger about what was going to happen next.
At the end of the 10th volume, the fans were left with mixed emotions as the story ended with an almost ideal happy ending but to some, it felt a little rushed as fans wanted to see some more action.
One Punch Man Season 3 and Tower Of God Season 2 are also set to return very soon, maybe around the same time as Parasyte S2.
Parasyte Season 2 Release Date
The publication of the manga was stopped in 1995 and hasn’t published a new chapter since. Even though the manga can be said to be finished there is still potential for it continues.
The fans still wish for a Parasyte The Maxim Season 2. But unfortunately due to a few reasons such as inadequate material as the anime caught up to manga with the ending.
The chance of Parasyte having a sequel is extremely low but if the show does great on Netflix and since Hitoshi Iwaaki has started writing again. There is still a chance that he might continue where he left off.
Parasyte The Maxim Season 2 is expected to release around July 2024 by the latest, around the same time as Dragon Ball Super Season 2.
Parasyte: The Maxim Till Now
After the incident at the mayor’s house, Shinichi became determined to defeat Goto to defend humanity against such a monster. As he reached the forest he was ambushed by Goto and to save Shinichi’s life Migi sacrifices itself.
After losing Migi, Shinichi hid in an old lady’s and was depressed about losing Migi but the next day due to some encouragement from the old lady Shinichi decided to take revenge for losing his friend.
After procuring a rusted blade from the junkyard Shinichi ambushed Goto. During the intense fight, it turned out Migi merged with Goto and was still alive. Soon Migi once again merged with Shinichi’s right shoulder and became his right hand again.
Even with Migi with Shinichi, they were at a disadvantage fighting Goto but suddenly Goto lost control over the other parasyte inside his body. It seems the rusted knife was coated with Hydrogen Cyanide and other toxins.
To save themselves the parasytes decided to separate themselves from Goto which led to their downfall.
At the end of the manga, Migi entered a hibernation-like state to properly analyze all the information he got from the merging with Goto. As Migi left Shinichi’s consciousness he again became a normal human boy with a highly athletic body.
The first season did very well with the fans, that’s why everyone wants to know if Parasyte Season 2 has been cancelled or when will it get released?

Parasyte had one of a kind art style at that time. This art style perfectly went with the terror-gore genre

The characters in Parasyte were exceptionally well defined and given great depth in their personality

The Horror
The writing of Parasyte had a lot of gore and horror but it went perfectly with the plot and aided the character development of the main character.

While Parasyte is mostly a horror manga filled with gore and horrifying monster designs, there are a handful of comedic moments thrown into the mix.
The Pacing of the Anime
The pacing of this series is without a doubt amazing. The character development of not only the main character but as well as the side characters and the villain has done exceptionally with no one everyone feeling the anime is being rushed
What might Parasyte Season 2 be like?
As Migi still existed inside Shinichi’s consciousness, Shinichi was also able to access some of the knowledge Migi analyzed which led to Shinichi becoming one of the biggest bioengineers in the next few years. Using Migi’s knowledge Shinichi made leaps of progress in the biological field.
During this time Shinichi felt some new super-human-like creature start to appear near Shinichi’s Home and Labs. One day while Shinichi was coming back from work he encountered one of these superhumans.
It turns out these humans weren’t completely controlled by Parasytes instead the Human was fully conscious while they had another entity in their body which were able to utilize the abilities of the Parasytes. They would eventually come to be known as Symbiotes.
It might turn out that the entity the Parasytes referred to as God was a human mad scientist who wanted to create a new evolved and improved strain of humans by combining them with a Symbiotic organism to fully use the human capacity.
During the research of the first strain, he accidentally developed a parasitic organism which led to catastrophic consequences.
He wanted to dissect Shinichi as he was jealous of what Shinichi was able to accomplish what should have been his achievements and to extract Migi’s consciousness and use it to perfect the Symbiotes.
But After so many years of research, Shinichi was close to figuring out how to bring Migi out of hibernation.
The trailer for Parasyte Season 2 will be out soon. No news regarding a cancellation has been announced, thus we can expect the anime to return very soon in the future.
