Pop In Q’s New Crowdfunding Campaign Successfully Raises About US$245,000
Crowdfunding campaigns are generally successful when the project has strong backers. One such success story of a crowdfunding campaign belongs to Toei Animation’s 2016 anime film Pop in Q.
This fantasy dance film was so popular among fans that they decided to fund a project for novelist Senya Mihagi’s novella.
Can believe that the fans had donated about US$24,000 just to read the stories of their beloved characters life after that one movie? Now here comes another shocker for you.
After the grand success of Project 19 back in 2019, Project 20 was also set into motion.
What’s Project 20? Good question! Project 20 plans to produce a full length novel, and an anime PV for Pop in Q NEXT STAGE!
According to the crowdfunding campaign website Project 20 launched on December 7th planned to raise 14,500,000 JPY (approx. US$140,000) by January 25th.
You’ll be delighted to know that the campaign was more than successful with over 25,669,319 JPY (approx. US$245,400) raised by 1457 kindhearted donors.
The campaign also shares news about the original film’s director Naoki Miyahara planning to collaborate with Senya Mihagi for Project 20. Miyahara is also planning to direct the PV anime for this ambitious project.
A part of the PV will be available for the audience while the full-length will be available for the fund backers. I love how the project team is loyal to the fans who made the crowdfunding possible.
Hizukuri, Original Short Anime Completes Production; Upcoming Debut
The story of the upcoming anime PV will be based on Mihagi’s novella. The novella is based on the lives of our five protagonist girls after the film.
The film showed us how five middle school girls found a common bond of dancing in a fantasy world. And how they tried their hardest to come understand the world and each other.
So, let’s patiently wait for the PV’s release.
