Double Feature Screening of Rascal Does Not Dream Sequel Anime Films

Aniplex of America has exciting news for fans of the Seishun Buta Yarō (Rascal Does Not Dream) light novel series’ sequel anime project, as they are holding a special premiere double feature screening of the two films – Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid. The screening will take place at the Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles on March 14, with the films set to screen in U.S. theaters on March 24 and 25 with English subtitles and dub, respectively.

Based on the eighth and ninth novels in the franchise, both films have already been released in Japan, with Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid premiering on December 1, 2023, and ranking at #4 in its opening weekend.

The film sold 119,000 tickets and earned 164,594,554 yen (about US$1.11 million) in its first three days. Meanwhile, the first film, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, was released on June 23, 2023, and also ranked at #4 in its opening weekend, selling 118,108 tickets and earning 175,648,924 yen (about US$1.28 million).
