The record of Ragnarok anime just released on Netflix and fans are already waiting for the Record Of Ragnarok Season 2 release date.
The anime has been awaited by fans for a long time since the manga is exceptionally enjoyable. And now that the whole season is out, people want to watch more and since the first season only featured three fights, we want a second season for more.
Veteran manga fans have already binged it and started to analyze it while new fans are watching since they can’t wait to find out what it is all about!
Since we are going to discuss the possibility of a sequel, we should take a look at the controversies. The anime has been banned in India and Netflix India chose to remove it. The Hinduism community will not be pleased with the depiction of the gods.
It is a sound decision by Netflix since the platform doesn’t seek to hurt the sentiments of others.
That said, plenty of Indians are pouring themselves into the series. Many people are using the VPN services to watch it. Word among the community is mostly that this is just an anime and the way it portrays certain gods has nothing to do with their own beliefs. They see it as an anime, not a religious propaganda!
So let us get to discuss whether Shuumatsu no Valkyrie Season 2 is coming or not. Because frankly, a series as entertaining as this one must be watched and read. And it shouldn’t really be that big either. We can realistically see the manga ending around the 100 chapter mark!
Record of Ragnarok Details
Record of Ragnarok is a monthly releasing seinen manga, published in Monthly Comic Zenon. It is the combined work of writers Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui and Illustrator Ajichika.
After the publishing of 47 strong chapters, season 1 of the anime has been released. After seeing some success, we are pondering whether there will be a Record of Ragnarok second season or not.
Netflix has been the one to License the anime, while Graphinica Studio has animated it. They released 12 episodes and covered up a lot of material. The story showed the introduction of the Ragnarok, where a God vs Man challenge was issued.
After that, Thor vs Lu Bu, Adam vs Zeus and Kojiro vs Poseidon have been portrayed. The anime ended with a teaser for the next fight – Jack the Ripper vs Hercules.
Will there be a Record of Ragnarok Season 2?
After speed running through the whole season 1, we are all hoping for Record of Ragnarok Season 2. Its just natural! And who can blame the fans? After seeing 3 such fantastic rounds, they are extremely excited.
The teaser for the next fight has the fans even more riled up. Because even though we would like to vote for humans, this is the fight between a serial killer human and another human who ascended to godhood.
At this moment, we have no solid way to know for sure whether a sequel will come. But we can look at different aspects of the series and make an educated guess. And for that, we must consider the critical reception and popularity of the series.
Typically, the manga has a wide fanbase. People have loved the series through and through. The volumes see great sales and that is why, the anime was announced in the first place. However, the anime hasn’t been as successful as the manga!
On Myanimelist, which is the biggest international anime forum, the series has a rating of 6.5 out of 10 and that is not a good sign. On Imdb, it holds the rating of 6.3 out of 10 and that is even worse.
The audience hasn’t loved the quality of the anime. But that does not decide everything of course. Berserk got a new season despite low ratings. Vinland Saga isn’t getting a new season despite high ratings.
The popularity of the series is middling at this point. It has only been released for 2 days and already nearly 60 thousand fans have interacted. With time, more people are bound to watch it for themselves.
We can realistically expect it to reach somewhere around the top 1700 popular anime on mal. Now if Netflix gets decent enough views on the series, Record of Ragnarok Season 2 might come out.
Next, we look at content. Out of the 47 existing chapters, season 1 has covered 20 chapters. The pacing has been decent so far. Assuming that Shuumatsu no Valkyrie Season 2 follows the same pacing, it should cover 20-25 chapters. This means the manga has enough content to support a sequel.
Now it is up to the creators. The producers and distributors will decide if this season was worth the investment or not. We can see it going either way. The production cost seems very low and thus they might just slap together a sequel. Hopefully, the next season will do a better job with the animation.
Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Release Date:
Warner Bros. Japan has been the one to produce the series and it has been Licensed by Netflix just like the upcoming Baki Season 4. Quality-wise, Studio Graphinica did not do a solid job.
The future holds if Record of Ragnarok Season 2 will come out or not. At this point, we do not know when it will be announced or whether there will be a sequel at all.
To be honest, we do expect a sequel to this show. The announcement might come out late 2021 and the anime can air next year at the same timeframe.
However, fans would do well to not get their hopes up about this. The slideshow type visuals were a major turnoff for many fans so there’s a slight chance the Shuumatsu no Valkyrie second season might never happen.
Season 2 Spoilers:
We are only going to tease a teensy bit about ROR Season 2. If it does arrive, it will carry on with the battles. The manga has a very straightforward approach. One round after the other, they proceed on a linear road. The Hercules vs Jack the Ripper is up next.
Needless to say, we will get amazing backstories on both Jack and Hercules. In fact, many manga fans consider this one to be their favorite fight. It is just too creative. Hercules will prove his greatness by showing how much he can love.
He openly accepts all the anguish inside Jack the Ripper. And Jack finally finds comfort in the warmth of his opponent!
After the long battle of these two, we will move on to two legends! One of the most popular Indian gods, Lord Shiva finally gets his turn. And against him comes the Japanese Legend Raiden Tameemon.
Their battle is one of the most brutal and both of their stories are extremely heartwarming.
