Recap of Season 1 of Record of Ragnarok
Plot
After 1000 years, at the council of Valhalla, the gods decide the fate of humans, whether humans should be allowed to live for the next 1000 years or not.
After reviewing the last 7 million years of human history the Gods conclude that extinction is the only remedy. However, the Valkyrie, Brunhilde proposes a tournament where 13 humans and 13 Gods will fight against each other.
Brunhilde argues that the human needs to be a given a chance to prove themselves first. Thus we see the three epic battles.
The three battles
The first one being the battle between Thor vs Lu Bu. Lu Bu was a human, a powerful warrior who was once the ruler of the three kingdoms and searched for a worthy opponent. On the other hand, Thor is the god of thunder, the son of Odin and protector of Asgard. Now as many suspected that the legendary warrior Lu Bu wouldn’t stand a chance against Thor’s ultimate weapon, Mjollner. Valkyrie wields a weapon for him i.e. Randgriz.
The fight was intense with both the characters attacking each other with their ultimate techniques. However just as everything has its beginning it also has its own end thus the battle came to an end with Thor emerging victorious. That is the end of the first battle.
The second battle is between Zeus and Adam. On one hand, Zeus is considered the father of all gods while on the other hand Adam is considered the father of all humans. The fight was a lot intense and reveals that Adam can mimic the power of gods. However, even that didn’t help the father of humans to save his children. Thus in the second battle Gods won.
The third battle is between Poseidon and Kojiro Sasaki. On one hand, we have Poseidon who is the god of the sea and also the brother of Zeus while on the other hand, we have Kojiro Sasaki who was a born loser, now what makes him an interesting character is that he always had room for evolution and transformation. he trained in swordsmanship and thus gained the title of ‘the Number one under the sun’.
The third battle is an interesting one, where Kojiro also asks Poseidon if he had ever wept tears of gratitude to a foe who made him stronger? The battle is intense with both the characters attacking each other. In the end, Kojiro emerged victoriously.
