Rent A Girlfriend Season 2 Release Date, Plot Announced

Rent A Girlfriend Season 2 has been confirmed and even a teaser has been released and now fans are asking about the release date and today we are here to discuss all that in detail.

Rent a Girlfriend got a very warm response in the Summer 2020 season. Also known as Kanojo Okarishimasu, this anime rose to its height extremely quickly. All over the fandom, people discussed different characters and formed groups.

We remember people uniting behind Gigguk’s statement that the male lead is an absolute failure and we should strive to be better. The anime was highly beloved and a second season was soon announced, but no release date announced yet.

Rent A Girlfriend Season 2

It’s the same as the Haikyuu Season 5 and Vinland Saga Season 2. Fans want “Rent a Girlfriend S2” announced soon and we here discuss the character, plot, and the expected release date.

Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 Release Date Announcement:

The love for this series was so widespread that Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 was announced literally on the day it ended – September 26. This is very rare for any series – usually one needs funding, content and other conditions satisfied to get a second season and there are tons of anime, who despite being good, failed to fulfill these.

We expect the release date of Rent a Girlfriend S2 to be around October 2021 just like the first season. Just like the first season, we expect a 12 episode season.

The second season is being awaited by fans with great joy and enthusiasm. All the drama, all the joy, all the complicated feelings – people eat this up very quickly.

The series is very praiseworthy since, in the beginning, a lot of people rightfully criticized the main character. But the wonder of the series lies in its name, that is, the girlfriends.

Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 Details:

Rent a Girlfriend is a manga written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. It is published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and as of now, has 18 volumes, selling quite nicely.

It also has a spinoff from the same writer – Kanojo, Hitorishimasu – which has more than 2 volumes.

The story revolves around Kazuya Kinoshita. He gets dumped by his girlfriend after a month of dating and this leads to a bad road for him. So he opts for the service of renting girlfriend.

That is how he first meets Chizuru Mizuhara. Due to certain insecurities, Kazuya ended up giving her a bad review, infuriating Chizuru.

Now Chizuru confronts him all abrasive since she was proud of her high ratings. Some complications lead to them visiting Kazuya’s grandma in the hospital who is glad that her grandson has finally found someone great.

Kazuya starts hiring Chizuru regularly to maintain the façade. But things get dicey when they discover that they’re neighbours and go to the same college!

The Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 has enough plot material to get adapted. Season 1 covered around 50 chapters and we manga readers concluded that it was a pretty faithful adaptation since the manga has great progression.

Rent a Girlfriend S2 will be made by Studio TMS Entertainment. Not only did they do a fantastic job with season 1, but they also have good anime in their arsenal, like Dr. Stone, ReLife, and D. Gray-Man! So we do have high hopes that they can do just fine moving onwards.

Since the announcement was made so quickly, we can deduce that the creators are mostly the same. We expect Kodansha, Mainichi Broadcasting Service, DMM Pictures, and DMM Music. Season 1 had no licensor but we expect one in Season 2. Could go either way.

Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 Cast:

We expect the cast to stay mostly the same with a couple of new additions.

  • We expect Amamiya Sora to return as Chizuru, the most beloved character from the show.
  • Horie Shun will return to play Kazuya Kinoshita, the male lead
  • Yuki Aoi as Nanami Mami
  • Takashie Rui as Sakurasawa Sumi
  • Touyama Nao as Sarashima Ruka
