Requiem of the Rose King’s New PV Teases Richard’s Relation with Henry
Requiem of the Rose King, a brave twist on Shakespeare’s Richard III, is all set to make its debut in 2022.
Aya Kanno’s original manga has won over hearts with its unique take on the classic play, and now it’s time for the anime to top the charts.
Fans love this series for its portrayal of Richard as well as its fluid art style, which suits the plot. The latest trailer of the anime will tell you that this beautiful art has been adequately animated.
The Requiem of the Rose King anime will be released on January 9, 2022. It will receive two cours with no breaks in between. So, you can expect a half-year continuous run, and I don’t think we can get any luckier than this.
A brand-new trailer has also been revealed for the upcoming series:
The trailer shows how Richard was continuously harassed about his gender, but as he grew up, he became confident in his identity.
It also reveals the intimate relationship between Richard and Henry VI. Both of them will soon be thrown into the middle of war and chaos, how will they deal with their feelings on the battlefield?
A new visual also portrays Richard and Henry, and the night on which they had first met:
Two new cast members have also been revealed:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Henry Stafford | Riho Sugiyama | Henrietta Penrose (86) |
Joan of Arc | Aoi Yuki | Tsuyu Asui (My Hero Academia) |
Requiem of the Rose King Anime Prepares for an Early Jan 2022 Premiere
Although fans were worried about how the anime might portray the queer elements in the story, the trailer looks promising as it has kept all tender moments of Richard untouched.
Although we all know how the War of Roses plays out, Requiem of the Rose King has shifted the focus from the war to Richard and his sexuality.
This attempt is how the manga has captured fans, and I’m hoping the same happens in the anime.
