Romance Manga Orange Gets Cute New Spin-Off Manga Starring Murasaka Azusa

If you could write a letter to your past self, will it be full of regrets or of reminiscence? 

The classic Orange series by mangaka Ichigo Takano seeks to answer the same question when Naho Takamiya, a sophomore high schooler, receives a letter from herself, ten years from the future full of regrets. With a letter guiding her decisions and aim to prevent the regrets of her future self, she moves forward.

Though the series ended way back in 2017, there is still something in store for the fans!

A brand new chapter of “Orange” was published by mangaka Ichigo Takano that primarily focuses on Azusa Murasaka, one of the side characters of the series. The manga is only available for a limited time.  

The manga will be available for free on Comic Action, while English and French translations are available on Seven seas and AKATA manga, respectively. 

We all know that we like the side characters way more than the protagonists in any romance series. So this short chapter is doing just that, the main couple takes a back seat, and we have a refined look at the real heroes. 

The relationship between Azusa Murasaka and Saku Hagita is just what the fans want, and the short manga is full of their itsy-bitsy cute interactions. From saving Azusa from bullies to giving her a piggyback ride, this ship has already sailed past the horizon. 

Even though the series has ended, it is endearing to see the mangaka coming back and continuing the story. Not only does it please the dedicated fans, but it also keeps the hope for a possible full-fledged return alive.

Orange is a Japanese romance manga series written and illustrated by Ichigo Takano. It was first serialized in 2012 in Bessatsu Margaret manga magazine and later in Monthly Action.

During the spring of her second year of high school, Naho receives a letter. Its sender is herself from ten years in the future. Naho thinks it’s a prank at first, but when the things written in the letter start to come true one by one, she realizes it tells her future.

It tells her that she’ll fall in love with Kakeru, a new student who transfers to her school and that he’ll die in the winter of his 17th year. What can the 16-year-old Naho do differently?
