The upcoming Salaryman’s Club anime brings to you a group of office workers who play badminton. I expect tons of pointless bickerings and middle-aged problems to arise in the midst of playing.
The Salaryman’s Club anime will be released on January 22, 2022. Crunchyroll will also stream the anime.
A new trailer has also been revealed for the anime:
Mikoto Shiratori, the protagonist of the anime, is first seen brainstorming with his colleagues at his workplace. Very soon, the scene shifts to show his frustration. (That’s the reality behind a cheerful office, guys.)
We see Mikoto remembering an incident where he had lost in a game during his school days, resulting in trauma. Now that he is an adult, he has to face this trauma once again and return as the victor.
The trailer also previews the ending theme song of the anime “Nisen Gohyaku Man no Ichi” by Mafumafu.

Studio LIDEN FILMS is animating this series, and I expect some great production from the studio that is in charge of Tokyo Revengers.
Just because the anime focuses on matches between businessmen, don’t think it will be a leisurely series. Different teams from different offices will gather to compete against each other.
I hope that apart from the matches, we also get a glimpse at middle-aged people complaining about their back pain issues.
About Ryman’s Club
Ryman’s Club is an original badminton-themed anime by TV Asahi and LIDEN FILMS. The sports genre anime revolves around a former badminton prodigy Mikoto Shiratori who’s still burdened by the loss in one of his high school matches.
Years later, Mikoto has started working in the sales department of Sunlight Beverage company and plays the sport as a hobby. He discovers that some of his co-workers are also badminton players and together they form a team.
