Season 3 of Konosuba: Publication Date
The third season of Konosuba has been confirmed, but there is no word yet on when it will premiere. Considering that both of Konosuba’s previous seasons were released in the beginning of the year, we can safely assume that the third season will premiere around the middle of 2023.
Once a new season has been announced, it typically takes between 12 and 18 months to air. Director of Konosuba Takaomi Kanasaki is busy making Princess Connect! In reference to the second season of Dive, which is scheduled to air in 2022.
Season 3 of Konosuba: What is The Plot?
In KonoSuba, a young boy named Kazuma Sat suffers a fatal heart attack after saving a young woman from an oncoming car. In the afterlife, however, he finds himself in a world not unlike those found in role-playing games (RPGs), where he quickly forms a dysfunctional group consisting of the goddess Aqua, the wizard Megumin, and the knight Darkness.
Given that the first five chapters of the light novel series were covered in the first two seasons of KonoSuba and the film adaptations, the third season will cover volumes six and seven.
Spoilers ahead: in these chapters, Darkness leaves to marry a nobleman, possibly cutting off the eccentric band of heroes for good.
As news of Kazuma’s victories over the Devil King spreads, he is reaping the financial benefits. This quickly piques the interest of The Crown, and Princess Iris asks for his help in capturing The Chivalrous Thief Chris, who has been stealing the empire’s treasures.
On the other hand, Kazuma is forced into exile after a disastrous encounter with the Devil King’s forces that leaves him isolated from his allies. The revived ex-gamer has to clear his name while uncovering a massive royal scheme.
The developing romance between Kazuma and Megumin, which is a major plot point of the upcoming 2019 film, will be a major focus of season three.
