Senku Fulfills his Childhood Dream as Rocket Launches in Dr. Stone Ch. 223

Ever since Senku learned about outer space, all he could dream of was going there. This dream of his is now finally coming true as Dr. Stone has entered its final arc, and the moon mission has been initiated.

Becoming an astronaut was a long shot, and Senku knew that he couldn’t pass the various eligibility tests. So, he tried to launch himself into space in first grade, and obviously, he wasn’t very successful. 

The Stone World gave him an opportunity, and now, Senku is just a few steps away from going into space.

Dr. Stone’s chapter 223 shows the space mission finally in action as the rocket launches into space. With that, Senku has finally fulfilled his childhood dream.

Including some teary goodbyes and promises to come back safely, the residents of Kingdom Science hyped up our heroes for the mission. Some last-minute emotions and gags got us in a dilemma whether to cry or laugh at this.

Of course, Senku and the others will come back from space, but I worry about what’s waiting for them on the moon.

There is little to no information about Why-Man and his powers, yet our heroes took a big risk of going to the moon and confronting him.

Moreover, I sense some sacrifice or an unexpected mishap to occur on the moon. I know that there’s a great chance it might not happen, but we still have to think of the worst.

This was honestly one of the most emotional chapters in Dr. Stone. Everything from Kohaku, Senku, and Stanley saying goodbye and Kaseki meeting Joel pulled at the readers’ heartstrings.

The manga is in its final arc, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for our heroes.
