Sentai Filmworks Acquires Nana Anime And Ensures An HD Release
NANA is one of the classics in the world of anime. It is a coming-of-age story of two girls with the same name, Nana. Their names may be identical, but their ambitions are quite different.
Both the girls come across each other almost as if fate itself decided for them to meet. Gradually the coincidences increase, and so does their bond. Tokyo soon turns into the city of despair from the city of dreams for them.
Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has acquired the rights to the famous anime, Nana and it will make a comeback soon in an all-new HD version.
Studio Madhouse produced 47 episodes of the anime series. If you don’t know how popular it is, then here is an estimate – the manga has sold over 40 million copies to date.
Sentai is converting the anime from its previous format to high definition for those of us who like eye-bleeding clarity for our anime. An HD home video release will follow the digital outlet distribution.
The series has inspired two live-action films in 2005 and 2006. The movie did remarkably well at the box-office, and the first film earned more than 4 billion yen.
The movies had altered the manga’s details to introduce some original concepts as well.

Creators of the anime had taken care that the manga was adapted to perfection, and there are no fillers in the entire series. Viz Media has licensed the original manga for release in English.
