This well-liked action anime, based on the manga with the same name, now has been acquired by Sentai Filmworks, which has a long history of dubbing the anime they license.

Sentai Filmworks has acquired the distribution rights of the anime for the people of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand together with Latin America and Nordic countries.

The anime will be released on home video in Winter 2021 and streamed on select digital outlets later. All the announcements are made on the official website of Sentai Filmworks.

This new anime, adapted from Hiroaki Samura’s Blade of the Immortal manga, premiered in October 2019 worldwide, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

The anime’s opening theme song “Survive of Vision” was performed by Kiyohar.

The Blade of the Immortal manga won the Excellence Prize in the 1st Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 1997 (manga category), and also won the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of Foreign Material in 2000.

The first television anime inspired by the original manga premiered in 2008, and Media Blasters released the anime in English.

The anime is adapted from the manga with the same name, which was launched in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in December 1993.

The manga consists of 30 volumes, having 5.8 million copies in print, which are published across 22 countries and territories.

The story follows Manji, the Slayer of Hundreds, who has been cursed with eternal life. But there’s a way to end his miserable life and finally, rest in peace. He has to slay 1,000 evil men to break this curse of eternal life.

He meets a young girl named Rin, who asks him to help her to take revenge on the group of swordsmen who killed her family. The girl reminds him of his lost younger sister, so he decides to help her.
