Shanks And Laugh Tale Are Interlinked: A One Piece Theory

The One Piece Film: Red has been recently released and it has been a huge commercial success. And due to this movie, a lot of new information has been coming up. And that gives rise to this amazing theory of how Shanks is deeply connected with Laugh Tale and its mysteriousness.

This One Piece 1059 theory is more of a search for the right questions, to reach a reasonable conclusion. It took some information that was released during the One Piece Film: Red promotion.

While the movie is considered noncanon, some of its info might be canon, which will lead to a great theory.

All of the information down below has been taken from Marco One Piece Theorist youtube channel.

Shanks Theory

He is the man who correctly noticed the time discrepancy in Wano and identified the traitor in Wano. He has had a lot of great theories over the course of the last few years.

Is One Piece Film: Red Canon?

Yes, the movie is mostly non-canon. However, that does not mean the information is completely wrong. One Piece Stampede came out years ago and there, we saw that the last island is Laugh Tale, not Raftel.

This was before we saw the Oden flashback, which means the movie teased a canon reveal.

Similarly, it can be considered that the Red movie is doing the same. There are some truths to what to reveal and in the future, the One Piece manga might exclusively address these mysteries.

And thus, the piece of info that has been extracted from this movie, is to be considered canon, for this theory to work.

Shanks and his past

Shanks had found Uta inside a treasure chest. He wonders if it is destiny since he himself was found by Roger and Rayleigh inside a treasure chest! The movie booklet confirms that Shanks was found in a treasure chest from the God Valley incident, 38 years ago.

To confirm this, we have another scene. When Roger and Rayleigh saw Momonosuke and Hiyori, they said how it has been a while since he has spent time with a baby. And in an SBS, Oda sensei was asked about which baby that was.

Sensei casually sidestepped the question, since it is a revelation that he plans to make later! Of course, that baby was Shanks himself.

Now, there is a scene where Gorosei indirectly says that Shanks is from the Figarland Family! This gives rise to the question of whether Shanks is a Celestial Dragon.

That will explain the Gorosei being wary of the family and the fact that they allowed Shanks to meet with them!

Roger and his Journey

Roger reached Lodestar island 39 years ago. And 38 years ago, the God Valley incident took place. And on that day, he found Shanks. And if Shanks is indeed a Celestial Dragon, then it would make sense that his hometown is Mary Geoise.

Or maybe it was God Valley itself! However, Shanks’ hometown is actually in the West Blue. How does that make sense?

Oda sensei rarely mentions a character’s hometown in the series. If he does, then it goes on to have some link in the story later on. For example, Sanji and north blue. Similarly, during the meeting of Whitebeard and Shanks, we saw that the latter hails from West Blue!

On that note, given that Shanks was on the Oro Jackson ever since he was a baby, how can his hometown be in West Blue? How does he even know where he is from?

Now, we know that after reaching Lodestar Island, Roger traveled the world. That is probably how he met with Rouge, who was from South Blue. So there is no guarantee that God Valley or even Laugh Tale is located on the Grand Line!

Islands can be relocated. And since God Valley disappeared, maybe it got transported to West Blue. That would make sense for Shanks. And West Blue has been quite important in the story.

Skypiea entrance is there, Kano Kuni is there and even Ohara itself is in the West. Plus, the famous song Binks no Sake comes from the West.

The One Piece Theory and Shanks

Artur, another famous One Piece YouTuber, theorized that One Piece is actually a grand amount of booze, for a worldwide party. It is the party that will take place after Joyboy unifies the world!

And on that note, if it’s the world’s greatest party, it will also be the world’s best booze. And Shanks offered the best booze from his hometown to Whitebeard.

And maybe, the people who made this best booze also created a song, that will be spread across the world, to tell them about its existence. This means, that Binks so Sake is a story about that booze stored in Laugh Tale.

So, there is a huge chance that West Blue is supremely important. The One Piece is probably located there. Shanks too is possibly from nearby regions and all of this is interconnected.

Luffy might have to travel there after Lodestar, to reach the final point of his journey!

What do you think about this Shanks and Laugh Tale theory we might see more about in the upcoming One Piece Chapter 1059.
