The 24 episode series is about five friends who vow to pursue careers in the animated film industry so that someday they can make a professional version of an anime together.

The official Twitter of Eleven Arts announced that it has acquired the North American rights to SHIROBAKO: The Movie.

Eleven Arts announced on Tuesday that it has licensed Shirobako The Movie, the anime film sequel of the Shirobako television anime. The film was released on February 29, 2020, in Japan.

The distributor will be present during theANIME NYC ONLINE virtual convention where an extended trailer of the movie will be released, on November 20.

The film opened in Japan on February 29 and released a remastered version later in Japan on August 28.

The film was a reigning success in Japan, but it was never released in the west. Now, the movie will be released in the west very soon.

The anime premiered in October 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

The series follows 5 girls who come together with their common love for anime and showcase an amateur animation at the cultural festival.

Years later, they try to achieve their dreams to work together and create a mainstream animated show of their own.

It aired in Japan between October 9, 2014 and March 26, 2015. A manga adaptation began serialization in ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Daioh magazine in September 2014, and a novel was published by Shueisha in January 2015.

The story is set four years after the events of the original Shirobako series. Aoi Miyamori, a production assistant at Musashino Animations is busy dealing with the ordinary troubles that arise while making an anime.

Aoi is put in charge of a new theatrical anime project for the studio but the project pertains to unexpected problems. With only a few months left before the deadline, Will she overcome the challenges and complete the project on time ?
