Shoujo Mangaka, Kana Hoshino, Passes Away Leaving Romance Fans in Tatters
The manga industry has recently faced a significant loss as Kana Hoshino, a leading shoujo mangaka, has passed away.
Hoshino sensei played a significant role in shaping the shoujo genre. Throughout her career, she has created several school life, romance mangas. Her characters have won the hearts of many fans with their sweet chemistry.
However, all good things come to an end, and we have lost an incredible talent.
Kana Yoshino, the well-known shoujo mangaka, passed away on 28th April due to an unspecified illness. She was 57 years old at the time.
She debuted in 1982 with the Tokyo wa Yoru no 7-ji manga. With almost 40 years of experience, she was a legendary author who had inspired many young mangakas.
Yoshino-sensei was most comfortable with fantasy and school romance genres. She was also a genius of slice of life and drama. Her most famous works are Ryokunohara Gakuen, Human Nore no Koe, Hiroki: Harusaki Meiro, and Lunatic Cinema.
Many of her works have been published in the Hana to Yume and Bessatsu Hana to Yume magazines. Both of these magazines are targeted towards young female readers.
