Thanks for visiting Anime Rants today. I thoroughly enjoyed the final episode of Solo Leveling season 2. The best part was when the dead S-Rank Healer, Byung-gu, was temporarily resurrected as one of Jinwoo’s shadows. Thanks to that, Hunter Cha was healed and Hunter Baek got some closure about his friend’s death. Now, let’s go over the rest of the episode.
Episode 25: On To The Next Target
Episode Rating: 9/10
Since I’m in a hurry, I’ll go through the episode events quickly. Jinwoo resurrected Byung-gu Min as one of his shadows. It was reportedly because he heard Byungu’s voice saying he wanted to heal Cha. Even in shadow form, Byung-gu was a sweet and loyal person. He successfully healed Cha, but she remained unconscious for the time being.

Hunter Baek asked Jinwoo not to make Byung-gu’s shadow fight as one of Jinwoo’s summons. Kindly, Jinwoo released Byung-gu. Before disappearing for good, Byung-gu smiled at Baek. The animation for Baek’s expression was perfect as he smiled back while choking back tears of relief. There’s something beautiful about a big man like Baek tearing up like that. It moved me to tears almost as well.

The Japanese leader, who was proven to be a scumbag, was shocked to hear that Jinwoo Sung appeared and finished the threat. There was no glory left for his country. Left with no choice, he ordered the withdrawal of the remaining Japanese Hunters. The scumbag was enraged. His hate and blame will doubtlessly be placed on Jinwoo in the future.

Back in the ant nest, while the Korean S-Rank Hunters fled out to a helicopter, Jinwoo finally reached level 100. He also resurrected the ant king’s shadow and named him Beru. Interestingly, Beru could still speak. However, I doubt anything remained of his original will, since he immediately professed his desire to serve his killer forever. Beru is only a shadow of the original, and is programmed to be a slave.

The Hunters on the ships outside the island defeated the rest of the ants with the help of Beru and Jinwoo’s shadow wyvern (whose name I forgot). We also briefly saw a Hunter from another nation, but I’m not sure what country he’s from or anything about him yet. All I know is that he’s even stronger than Goto was, able to knock out hundreds of straggler ants with a single fiery blast. I’m sure we’ll see more of him in season 3.

After the funeral for Byung-gu, everything started to calm down. Jinwoo revealed that he was thinking of starting his own guild. But a new danger was brewing, unknown to him. The clean-up crew in the ant nest was instantly wiped out by two strange beings who looked like dungeon bosses. They said a bunch of strange, cryptic things that I can’t yet make sense of it. I don’t know who they were or what they were talking about. Jinwoo’s father was watching them from a distance.

Chairman Go asked Jinwoo to handle a B-rank gate that just opened on the highway. Jinwoo agreed to take care of it, but it turned into another red gate. That means Jinwoo can’t leave again until the dungeon is totally cleared. But Jinwoo wasn’t worried, other than about being late for dinner. He was so tough that he probably wouldn’t break a sweat. That’s the end for now.

~Thanks for reading~
