‘SPY x FAMILY’ Teases Hidden Side of Forger Family Before April Debut

The broadcast date for the SPY x FAMILY anime has been finally decided. I can’t even begin to tell you how long I’ve been waiting for this announcement.

Why so? It portrays a cute family consisting of a spy, an assassin, and a mind-reader chibi girl. Need I say more?

The SPY x FAMILY manga is one of my all-time favorites, and its balance of cute comedy and intense action scenes is unmatched. So, I guess you know how excited I am for this series.

SPY x FAMILY has just confirmed its anime premiere on April 9, 2022. Crunchyroll will stream the upcoming series.

A clever new visual is out, and it shows the hidden side of the seemingly ordinary family:

This visual is captivating to me as it shows the hidden sides of Loid and Yor Forger. Loid is a shrewd spy in need of disguise, and Yor is an assassin. Both of them are unaware of each other’s identities.

Anya is stuck in the middle. This child is a mind reader and knows all about her parents but finds them even cooler because of their occupations. In short, this is the Forger family, a forged but lovable bunch of cuties.

I am really looking forward to this new series, and I hope WIT Studio treats it right. The Forger family might be fake, but their affection towards each other has never been feigned.

Will they ever know the truth about each other? I hope Anya gets the drama she deserves when the day comes.

Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.

The story follows a spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as a daughter and the woman he agrees to be in a fake marriage with are a mind reader and an assassin respectively.
