Sui Ishida Bravely Picks Choujin X’s Erratic Release to Prevent Overworking
Choujin X, the new manga by Sui Ishida, will make you fall in love with his art style all over again. The first chapter was launched yesterday and Tokyo Ghoul fans are bound to think of it as a homecoming.
Although both Choujin X and Tokyo Ghoul are different manga, they have a lot of common themes. The human turned monster protagonist trope is present in both. However, we believe in Sui Ishida and his power of creating dark fantasy twists in a mundane world.
The Choujin X manga has just been launched on 10th May, and it will be serialized in the Tonari no Young magazine.
Overseas fans will be relieved to know that the manga will also be available on both the Shonen Jump app and the MANGA Plus app. It is also a simul-pub series. Thus fans abroad will be able to read the chapters as soon as they are launched in Japan!
Ishida had overworked himself when Tokyo Ghoul was still serializing. Different complexities arose regarding his health and the strict deadlines were of no help either. Some of the nihilistic prospects in Tokyo Ghoul were inspired by how hopeless he felt.

However, the mangaka is now determined to not make the same mistakes again. Choujin X has no release schedule, which means that chapters will be published according to the creator’s convenience.
As fans, we are proud of Ishida-sensei for taking this decision and valuing his health. It is far more important for an artist to enjoy their work than to feed a constant demand.
Ishida had teased the first chapter with a mysterious visual, but the actual release surprised us all!
In the very first chapter, the stakes have been raised since our protagonists have taken a hazardous decision to turn into Choujins, humans with supernatural abilities. Keep an eye out for the next chapter to see if they lose their humanity or successfully protect themselves and others.
