Supermarket Stakeout: Food Network Sets Premiere Date for S3
If the lockdown had forced you to step into the kitchen and cooking shows are your only source of recipes, you are in luck – Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout is coming back with a third season this year! The competitive food reality show debuted on the network in 2019 and had a second season in early 2020. The third season is set to premiere in the last week of December 2020.
Supermarket Stakeout is the best cooking show for the current situation. The show follows four chefs who negotiate with the customers exiting the supermarket to buy whatever is in their bags for $500. The main goal of the participants is to cook mouth-watering dishes with limited ingredients and a limited budget. The show is set up in the parking spot of a supermarket with a booth for each participant to cook in.
There are three rounds and all contestants are given $500 at the beginning. In every round, there are restrictions on shopping and budget. The host assigns a theme for each round and the chefs are asked to prepare three servings of their dishes, two for the judges and one as a ‘beauty plate.’ The judges then evaluate the dishes based on their taste, presentation and relevance to the theme.
The lowest scoring chef is eliminated and their money is forfeited.
Alex Guarnaschelli of Iron Chef and Chopped is coming back to host the third season of Supermarket Stakeout. A rotating panel of judges including Antonia LaFaso, Eddie Jackson and Aarti Sequiera will also return to the show.
Supermarket Stakeout season three premieres on December 29th, 2020, at 10 pm.
