Supernatural Manga Shadows House Goes on Month-Long Hiatus
Menacing silhouettes, mysterious mansions, and human-like dolls perfectly sum up Shadows House, a successful manga in the supernatural genre.
Which good horror story starts without a creepy mansion? Where shadows are the owners and human-like dolls are the caretakers, Shadows House incorporates horror elements almost at every step of the story.
As you progress through the mysterious story, thousands of unanswered questions will be racing through your mind. But, hold on, you’ll need to wait another month to get the manga’s next update!
This year’s combined 33rd/34th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump addressed that the Shadows House manga will go on a hiatus until the magazine’s 39th issue releases, which ships on August 26th.
Neither the author nor the publishing magazine has given any reason for the hiatus.
It is possible that the author is facing health issues or overworking themselves, and thus needs a break, which wouldn’t be surprising.
We have seen patterns in the past of hiatuses due to worsening health, like with Jujutsu Kaisen. Or the mangaka could be taking time to rethink how the story moves forward, similar to the Ace of Diamond.
Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Supposedly Returns in August with Brand-New Character!
Needless to say, authors require breaks every once in a while, and luckily for us, it is only a month’s wait for the next chapter.
Due to the manga’s rising popularity, an anime television series adaptation of 13 episodes was announced on the sixth volume of the manga in October 2020.
Should we be expecting a grand surprise for when the manga returns? Unfortunately, we have to wait till August 26th to find out!
About Shadows House
Shadows House is a slice of life supernatural manga by Soumatou. It was first released in Weekly Young Jump in September 2018.
The anime takes us to the mysterious, western-style mansion populated by a clan of “Shadows,” who imitate the trappings of human aristocracy. The Shadows have no faces and are attended by “Living dolls.”
The story follows Emiriko, a doll who serves Living Shadow Kate. Apart from being her maid, Emiriko is expected to become Kate’s “face” once her mistress is old enough to be introduced to the other mansion residents.
