Tamayura Fan Event Delayed Until 2022 due to COVID-19
After the Tamayura 10th anniversary fan event was scrapped in 2020, fans were hopeful that 2021 would be different. Unfortunately, the situation is back to square one.
Though many events were greenlit in 2021, including the Olympics, the staff of the franchise announced that the Tamayura Alumni Association event is delayed to 24th April 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously scheduled for 10th October 2021.
The Tamayura franchise is based on an original concept by Junichi Sato, known for his Direction in Whisker Away.
The story takes place in the third year of high school, following Fū and her friends Kaoru, Norie, and Maon. The series takes us through the lively daily photography club life of these four girls and new members who join them.
But as the year advances, the worry about what paths to choose after graduation slowly sets in.
The series debuted as an OVA before spawning television sequels such as Tamayura: Hitotose and Tamayura: More Aggressive. The project also received a great tetralogy of film sequels. No wonder this vast project has so many eagerly waiting fans for the event!

The Tamayura event’s official website and Twitter have posted updates that the details for the 2022 event are still undecided, and the staff will consider the environment before making a decision.
Though the COVID-19 pandemic has led to many events getting canceled in 2021, there’s still hope for the next year. It is pretty relatable that the Tamayura girls are worried about their life ahead, while the fandom is worried about whether they can ever attend the event.
