Tasokare Hotel Episode 8 Review

Greetings! Thanks for visiting Anime Rants! The latest episode of Tasokare Hotel was fairly entertaining. Neko was surprised to see one of her favorite idols wander into the hotel. Let’s go over a few notes on Tasokare Hotel episode 8.

Episode 8: The Idol Girl

Episode Rating: 7/10

This installment focused on Kaneko Konomi, one of the idols from the group 3Q, which Neko practically worships. Kaneko was calm, graceful, and beautiful. She was clearly upset when she found out she was dead, but she tried to act calm about it. When she got to her room alone, however, Kaneko fell back to her old habit of abusing sleeping pills and nearly poisoned herself. Things are not easy for idols.

Later on, Kaneko remembered a song that she wrote and always wanted to sing publicly. However, the song was rejected by the 3Q producers. Neko decided that the best thing for Kaneko would be to sing that song in a mini-concert here at Tasokare Hotel. Kaneko agreed to the idea and Neko tried to recruit other guests and employees to play musical instruments. If all went according to plan, the Manager would play drums, Masaki would play piano, and Atori would play saxophone.

Masaki didn’t agree to the plan until Neko proposed a battle of cards. The game was Speed, or Spit as we called it in the southern USA. Surprisingly, Neko won. Her reward was Masaki’s agreement to play the piano. Interestingly, when Neko said Masaki was the least trustworthy person in the hotel, Masaki said that Neko was close to slipping over to his side. If push came to shove, Masaki said, Neko could kill another person. Neko tried to ignore this creepy statement.

Unfortunately, Atori refused to play saxophone. He seemed unusually stubborn and angry about the topic, swearing that he would never play sax again. Nothing Neko said could convince him. To heighten the tension, another guest in the hotel was a grumpy man who seemed to hate idols. He had a bag or briefcase for a head. He probably would not be happy about this loud concert idea.

The episode ended rather clumsily, without these issues being resolved. We’ll have to wait till next week for the continued story. I enjoyed this installment due to the cuteness of Neko, the relatable substance abuse of Kaneko, and the creepy lines from Masaki Osoto. That’s all for today.

~Thanks for reading~
