Season 2 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is only a few months away, as it joins Crunchyroll’s Winter 2021 line-up. A brand-new key visual for the second season has been released, giving us glimpses of the adventures that Rimuru will undertake along with the Jura Tempest Federation. The visual features Rimura against a backdrop of both enemies and allies— including glimpses of Ranga and Gobta.
Fans of the show have a lot of content to look forward to in the next year—with the first part of the second season airing on 12th January 2021. Following this, there will be a spin-off anime series called The Slime Diaries (based on the manga). And finally, the second part will air during the summer 2021 anime season, in July. That gives us more than half a year of content—and those who haven’t watched the first season still have plenty of time to catch up on all the 24 episodes and the special episode. Although originally planned for October 2020 and April 2021 releases, COVID-19 caused a delay.
The first season is now available on all major anime streaming platforms, and Funimation is just announced that it will be streaming an English dub of the anime. This is the synopsis for the show on Crunchyroll:
Corporate worker Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer and is reborn to an alternate world. But he turns out to be reborn a slime! Thrown into this new world with the name Rimuru, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (転生したらスライムだった件 Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) is an anime series based on the light novels and manga of the same name. Written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah, there are 17 volumes which have sold over 4.5 million copies in print.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the second season as it airs in Japan, with a simuldub by Funimation in Winter 2021.
