The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Eccentric Romance Receives New OAD Trilogy

The Ancient Magus’ Bride puts a modern spin on the tale of Beauty and the Beast. When Chise Hatori is ready to sell herself, she never would have guessed that a half-fae will buy her. Soon, the humanoid creature becomes her fiance and master. 

Just like Chise gave up all hope, the fans also did after the anime ended four years ago. But now the franchise is here with the new OAD series acting as our Elias Ainsworth.

The website for The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy From the West and the Knight of the Mountain Haze ( Mahō Tsukai no Yome: Nishi no Shōnen to Seiran no Kishi) dropped a surprise trailer for their OAD trilogy coming out on September 10, 2021.

The trailer picks up two different stories, which, I feel, will be connected at the end of the episode.

The OAD will pick up Chise’s tale where it was left off – when she enrolls in The College. It will also show the new Wild Hunt – mysterious knights who ride on horses and ruin the Summer Solstice.

The trailer also revealed two new special characters that will be in the upcoming 3-part OAD.

According to the website, the characters introduced are Gabriel, played by Hiromi Igarashi, and the ‘Mysterious Boy’ played by Aoi Ichikawa.

Igarashi has also voiced the characters of Edytha Rossmann in Brave Witches Mikage Sharaku in Durarara!!x2 series.

Ichikawa is best known for playing the iconic role of Eita Izumi in Just Because! and Mitsuru from Darling in the FranXX.

The second story of the OAD is based on Gabriel and the Mysterious Boy. Gabriel is tired of parting with friends, that is, until she discovers a peculiar-looking rock.

Now she is hell-bent on figuring out what it is and joining the magical world. This is how the show might connect the stories and will proceed from there.

The entire theme of the show is somewhat refreshing as it takes up a classic tale and gives it a new perspective. 

The upcoming OAD will be bundled together with its manga’s limited edition Volume 16th, 17, and 18th, which will come out on September 10, 2021, March 10, 2022, and September 10, 2022, respectively.

The fans are going crazy about what the new OAD has in store, and we are going crazy with the speculations. What is that mysterious rock? Who is the mystery guy? Will Chise and Elias’ relationship be tested again? Will they make it through????

THERE ARE JUST SO MANY QUESTIONS!! And I desperately need the answer to them all, so I will try to wait patiently *tries to be calm*
