The Rebooted “New Shaman King” Reveals Main PV, Visual, And Cast

Shaman King is the rebooted version of the famous 2000’s anime, Shaman King. Set in a tournament-style world, shamans battle against each other with their skills to reach the title of the most powerful shaman.

Whereas Shaman King adapted only a part of the manga, the rebooted series will be adapting the whole manga which was completed in 2004.

A new promotional video has been released for the upcoming New Shaman King anime. The anime will premiere in April 2021.

The PV shows Yoh Asakura fighting brand new enemies to take the title of the Shaman King. The anime’s major arc is introduced through the video and some flashy new attacks are previewed as well.

Since the rebooted anime will adapt the full manga series, new characters are expected as well. Asakura will also get some new power-ups.

The visual shows the clash between Yoh Asakura and Tao Ren. Tao is the 43rd head of the Ren family and hails from China. He came to Japan in order to fight Yoh and to take possession of his guardian spirit, Amidamaru.

Megumi Hayashibara will be performing the opening and ending themes of New Shaman King. She also performed two openings and two endings for the original anime series.

About Shaman King

Shaman King is a manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 30, 1998.

The series received an abrupt end on August 30, 2004, leaving fans disappointed.

The manga received a reprint in 2009 to give its fans the true ending to the series. It also received an adaptation by studio Xebec in 2001 that was directed by Seiji Mizushima.

It introduces us to a world of shamans. These Shamans are powerful beings who can see and communicate with spirits, ghosts, and gods.

Once in 500 years, a prestigious tournament called The Shaman Fight is organized, and the winner gets to shape the world in his image with the aid of the great spirits.

The story revolves around Manta Oyamada, who has a chance encounter with You Asakura that completely changes his life.

Asakura aims to become the Shaman King, aided by Manta and his 600-year-old samurai friend Amidamaru. They set out to fulfill You’s dream.
