The key Visual features main cast Raphtalia the demi- human, Ren Amaki the Sword Hero and Melty.
The 90-seconds promo contains some heavy spoilers from the first episode so they better be left. Also it features opening theme ‘Rise’ by Madkid.

The anime will premiere on 9th January and will be 2- hour long special episode.

Synopsis
Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!

The Rising of the Shield Hero is a Japanese light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. The novel series was adapted into a manga series by Aiya Kyū and published by Media Factory, with ten volumes released as of February 23, 2018. Both the novel and manga series were licensed by One Peace Books
