Netflix announced and started streaming the first seasons of Seven Deadly Sins for several months now. However, we still have no release date published for Season 5. Despite currently airing in Japan, up to episode 12 now.

Also, keep in mind Netflix, for some unknown reason, decided the seasons of Nanatsu differently than in Japan. The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 in Netflix is actually season 4 in Japan. We’re calling it season 5 for comprehension sake!

The Japanese title was originally translated as Anger’s Judgement, but the official English title is Dragon’s Judgement. The new season was originally scheduled to premiere last October 2020. However, it has been delayed due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

About The Anime

The Seven Deadly Sins also known as Nanatsu no Taizai is originally a manga series. It is written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki, which started its serialization in Shonen Jump in 2012. The medieval, fantasy themed shounen manga follows Meliodas (voiced by Yuki Kaji). The Sin of Wrath and the lead of the titular Seven Deadly Sins, legendary knights.

It’s also important to note that Studio Deen started animating the series instead of A-1 Pictures in 2019. Therefore, this resulted in lower quality.

Studio Deen, while know for numerous memorable anime series, has always been infamous for being shoddy, regardlepoint, which animators end up working on their shows. At the point, only loyal fans and those already reading the manga are still keeping up with the Nanatsu anime adaptation. Which is still a decent viewer vase overall.
