The Seven Deadly Sins is getting a new sequel film called The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light(Nanatsu no Taizai: Hikari ni Norowareshi Mono-tachi.) It will air in Japanese theatres in summer 2021. The original manga creator, Nakaba Suzuki, will be writing a new story for the movie. This film sequel will be set after The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement TV anime series. This series is the last anime adaptation of the The Seven Deadly Sins franchise.
This movie will be the second one in the entire collection, after The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky, which released in August 2018. According to Suzuki, Cursed by Light will use elements that he couldn’t use in the main story. So far, no other information has been released for the movie.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement (Nanatsu no Taizai: Fundo no Shinpan) anime will be airing on Netflix sometime this year. It has already premiered on Japanese television on January 6 on TV Tokyo. Originally scheduled to premiere in October 2020, it was delayed due to Covid-19.
The Seven Deadly Sins manga series was serialised from October 2012 to March 2020 in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine. It has since been compiled into 41 tankōbon volumes.
The anime adaptation was produced by A-1 Pictures for three seasons: the 24-episode first season (2014-15), the four-week special season called The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War (Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi) in 2016, and the second season, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments (Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu) in 2o18. Studio Deen’s third season, titled The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of the Gods (Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin) aired from October 9, 2019 to March 25, 2020.
