The Walking Dead Coming Back with New Episodes in New Year
The new year is bringing a few more episodes of The Walking Dead with it. The tenth season of the popular post-apocalyptic horror show premiered in 2019 and concluded in 2020. AMC had ordered an additional six episodes after the tenth season’s finale, which were supposed to air in late 2021. But, The Walking Dead fans are in luck because these episodes are debuting early – in February 2021, to be precise.
The first of the half dozen episodes is scheduled to drop on February 28th, and subsequent episodes will drop every following Sunday. All the episodes will premiere a few days early in the AMC+ streaming service. Some new names are joining the cast – Hilary Burton Morgan, Robert Patrick, Okea Eme-Akwari.
At the end of the tenth season, viewers had witnessed the end of the Whisperers War and the death of the Alpha (Samantha Morton). They had won against the horde but the consequences are far from over.
In the new episodes, they will try to pick up the pieces after the destruction caused by the war. The war has taken a toll on the survivors and the devastation will expose their vulnerable sides and insecurities.
Creators of The Walking Dead have said that the show will end after the eleventh season, which will be divided into two parts. Although the original show will be over by 2022, The Walking Dead universe has expanded and is expected to expand more.
Two spin-offs had already premiered – Fear the Walking Dead on August 23rd, 2015, and The Walking Dead: A World Beyond on October 4th, 2020 and two more have been announced. One will revolve around Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and the other will be an anthology series that will explain the characters’ backstories.
