Tiny Toons Are Coming Back With A New Show On HBO Max!
Tiny Toons is coming back to televisions to entertain a new generation of kids! HBO Max and Cartoon Network have announced that Steven Spielberg’s famous cartoon characters are being revived in a new show called Tiny Toons Looniversity. The series has already been given a two-season order, so buckle up to spend a lot more time at Acme Acres once again.
The Tiny Toon characters first debuted in the Tiny Toon Adventures, an animated show that premiered on CBS in the early 1990s. The characters lived in Acme Acres, a fictional town in which the Loony Tunes was also set, and attended Acme Looniversity to learn the art of being funny.
Tiny Toon Adventures ended in the mid-90s and collected seven Daytime Emmy Awards during its run. The awards are a testament to the brilliant team that was working behind Tiny Toon Adventures in the 90s. Those sceptical about the reboot, thinking that a new production team will destroy the essence and originality of Tiny Toons, will be happy to know that most of the old team is coming back to create the new show.
Amblin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Animation are producing the Tiny Toons Looniversity with Steven Spielberg, who is returning as executive producer. However, it is still unknown whether the voice actors will remain the same in the new series. Charlie Adler, Tress MacNeille, Kath Soucie, Maurice LaMarche, Frank Welker, Rob Paulsen, Danny Cooksey, Cree Summer, Jeff Bergman, Candi Milo, Noel Blanc, Greg Burson, Jim Cummings, John Kassir, Bob Bergen were the original voice cast of Tiny Toons Adventures. Joe Alaskey, Don Messick, Stan Freberg and June Foray, also members of the cast, are now no more.
Cast member Cree Summer has revealed Elmyra Duff, one of the only human characters in Tiny Toons Adventures, will not be returning to the new show.
There has been no announcement regarding the release of Tiny Toons Looniversity.
