Tokyo Revengers Episode 4 Recap:
The episode starts with Hina making a seat for an old lady which was taken by some loud middle school boys on the train. Looking at that Takemichi is amazed by how kind and courageous Hina is to speak up and make a way for an old lady.
While traveling on the train Hina and Takemichi talk about their final exams on which Takemichi’s reply doesn’t satisfy Hina. Following this, Hina decides to help Takemichi study and takes him to her home.
Entering a girl’s room for the first time Takemichi is surprised at how beautiful and cute a girl’s room can be. Soon Hina’s mom interferes with drinks while asking questions that were too embarrassing for Hina.
While studying, Hina thanks Takemichi for saving his brother. Hina also shares that his brother didn’t like dad as he was busy all day as a police officer but suddenly Naoto has been looking up to his dad.
Takemichi accidentally reveals about Naoto being a police officer in the future but soon changes the topic into saying that he will become a good police officer in the future to not reveal his secret of time travel to Hina.
To this Hina says that she likes how Takemichi has become more mature and asks him to join her on the rooftop to watch fireworks. Unfortunately, Takemichi grabs Naoto’s hand on the dark rooftop instead of Hina’s and moves back to the future.
Coming back to the future, Naoto confirms that the handshake is indeed a trigger and that Takemichi’s body remains in suspended animation while he is time traveling.
To which Naoto assures Takemichi to protect his body by keeping it in his own room. Asking about the mission, Takemichi says that he met Mikey (Sano Manjiro) in the past and that he’s a good guy.
Replying to this, Naoto says that Mikey can never be the good guy as he is one responsible for Hina’s death and is the one behind the evil deeds of the Tokyo Manji Gang.
Takemichi, unable to believe this, asks Naoto to meet Mikey along with him. Both of them begin finding information on how to meet Mikey as he has been unable to trace. While searching they come across Akkun (Atsushi Sendo) who is now a part of the Tokyo Manji Gang’s upper echelon.
They also found out that Akkun stabbed Takamasa and went to prison before joining the gang. Both of them are shocked as Takemichi tells Naoto that the past has been altered because in the past Akkun thought of doing it but never did it.
To which Takemichi decides to call Akkun using the contact number in the notebook from his middle school. Soon they meet Akkun in a hostess bar which was run by Akkun himself. There Akkun greets Takemichi and tells him that he was the one who pushed him on the track.
Shocked after hearing that, Takemichi tells that he cannot believe it because the Akkun he knew was kind and was always sacrificing himself for others.
Akkun then tells Takemichi that he is aware of his time travel as he would have died if it was not for someone knowing the events beforehand, in this case, Naoto saved him. Akkun reveals how the Tokyo Manji Gang has fallen into the hands of Tetta Kisaki, who was also responsible for the evil deeds.
Before jumping off the rooftop and giving up on his life, Akkun tells that Mikey changed after the death of Draken (Ken Ryuguji) and asks Takemichi to save everyone using time travel.
Devastated after losing his childhood friend, Takemichi asks Naoto to dig up info about the day Ken Ryuguji died. Secretly, until now, Tetta Kisaki was witnessing all this happening from the corner of the roof.
The episode ends with Takemichi saying Naoto while crying that he wants to save Akkun, Draken, Hina, and everyone who has lost their lives after getting involved with the Tokyo Manji Gang. More will be revealed in Tokyo Revengers Episode 5.
