Tokyo Revengers Manga Enters the Climax of its Final Arc

Tokyo Revengers is a rare manga that was immensely popular even before the anime came out. This shonen saga is unlike any other we’ve witnessed, where sci-fi meets the spirit of friendship, love, and loyalty.

While the anime garnered more popularity and curious fans for the manga, Ken Wakui entered the manga’s final arc. After more than a year since the arc started, it’s evident that this smashing manga will end soon.

This year’s 46th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine has revealed that Tokyo Revengers will enter the climax of its final arc. Chapter 274, the start of the finale, will be out in the magazine’s next issue on October 19.

The chapter starts with Shinichiro encountering a grown-up Mikey and instantly breaks down into tears, leaving the latter confused. After some chit-chat and fixing up a scooter, Shinichiro is approached by Haruchiyo.

It seems like Haruchiyo suffered a lot from Shinichiro’s time traveling and now had different memories from various timelines. Shinichiro calmly explains the whole situation, which Haruchiyo believes and swears to tell no one about it, not that people will believe it anyway.

The panel changes to Shinichiro taking a stroll and coming across none other than the crybaby hero, Takemichi. In this panel, Takemichi is an elementary school student protecting Hina from a bunch of middle schoolers as Kisaki is watching them from a distance.

Shinichiro wards off the bullies after he sees them beating Takemichi to a pulp. In a desperate cry for help, Takemichi asks Shinichiro how to become strong and a hero, to which the latter smiles and replies, ‘you’re definitely gonna be strong.’

Mikey’s big brother then gives his time-leaping power to Takemichi and says to use it when he really wants to protect someone.

This brings Takemichi to the present when he realizes that his story started on that fateful day when Shinichiro passed on his powers. Takemichi, Mikey, Kisaki, Hina, and the others have always been tied together by fate and these powers.

I must give it to Wakui for this chapter because all the unexplainable plotlines make so much sense now. Although, I do hope Wakui starts to untangle the complexity the manga has reached now.

Despite being an epic tale, the story needs to start wrapping up before it’s too late.

About Tokyo Revengers

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017. It is an ongoing manga that received its 17th compiled book volume on May 15.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.

Landing on the tracks, he closed his eyes, accepting his death, but when he opened his eyes, he had time-leapt 12 years into the past.
