To all those asking if there will be a Tokyo Revengers Season 2? The Answer is yes and we expect the release date to be announced soon.
Tokyo Revengers, also known as Tokyo Manji Revengers, is a modern-day story of delinquents in Japan. Owing to its compelling storyline and the appropriate usage of certain themes, it has managed to be highly famous.
Tokyo Revengers is essentially a love story that takes place in the backdrop of Japanese delinquent culture. It is a highly intriguing story where our hero, Takemichi Hanagaki goes back in time to save his ex-girlfriend from getting murdered.
Takemichi is a guy pushed around by life. He has a bad job and he suffers constantly. One day he comes to know that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana has been murdered.
Pretty soon, he is pushed in front of a train and he travels back 12 years in time. He has to fix this problem somehow and his only clue is the Tokyo Manji Gang.
While the plot seems surprisingly similar to Erased, it is actually vastly different. Frankly, time travel is the only common aspect in between the two.
The story introduces us to a wide array of characters, each more interesting than the other. There is the heroic Mikey, and the villain Kisaki!
With Season 1 nearly over, let us check all the information we have about the upcoming Tokyo Revengers Season 2 anime.
We are sure that most of the fans are desperate for a sequel and they are joined by the manga readers since the adaptation is amazingly handled.
The 24th Episode aired on 18th September, and we all are waiting for Season 2 confirmation or announcement. More details below.
Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Release Date:
Tokyo Revengers second season is yet to be announced. Normally, announcements of a sequel either take place at the end of the prequel i.e Tokyo Revengers Episode 24 or during anime-related events in Japan.
We will find out very soon if Tokyo Revengers S2 is announced. But until then, let us see whether it will come or not.
Let us first see the popularity and reception. Season 1 has an 8.26/10 rating on Myanimelist, voted by nearly 200000 members. On IMDb, nearly 5000 people have voted it to be 8.6/10.
This automatically means that the series is successful and is beloved by fans.
In fact, Season 1 is in the top 250 anime on Myanimelist, which is absolutely amazing. And the manga is in the top 100 in Myanimelist. So when it comes to popularity, the series is golden and needs no introduction.
This amount of popularity guarantees that the show has had great viewership and sales. The Blu-ray version is yet to be out which means that the sales will be even greater. With this amount of revenue, a sequel seems like a huge possibility.
Lastly the source material. The manga is currently in its last arc. It currently has over 220 chapters. Season 1 only covered chapters 1 through nearly 77.
This means that if Tokyo Revengers Season 2 comes right now, it has more than enough source material to adapt.
With this, we see great signs of positivity and we are almost sure that the second season will be greenlit.
Unlike My Hero Academia Season 6 and Dragon Ball Super Season 2, Tokyo Revengers anime will return soon with the second season.
According to recent reports and the chatter online, Tokyo Revengers Season 2 will be released somewhere around September 2022.
Tokyo Revengers S2 Storyline:
Season 1 will probably cover up to the Valhalla arc. Tokyo Revengers S2 will be covering the Black Dragon arc in the beginning. As you might have guessed, Takemichi returns to another disappointing future and that the Tokyo Manji Gang has turned into a crime syndicate.
Once again, our hero returns to the past. This time he has to help Hakkai Shiba in defeating his brother Taiju Shiba, the current leader of the Black Dragon gang.
Unfortunately this time, he does not have the full support of Toman and has to act covertly.
We believe Tokyo Revengers Season 2 will have a similar producer as before, with Pony Canyon funding the project alongside a couple of newbies. The series will hopefully, be made by Studio Lidenfilms since they have done a great job with the current season.
We expect the second season to have 24 to 26 episodes, which will probably be enough to properly adapt the Black Dragons arc and possibly, the Tenjiku arc.
The pacing will be tricky though since there is a whole lot to cover. There’s enough source material for even a Tokyo Revengers Season 3.
So we all know that Tokyo Revengers second season is a done deal for sure, just like the upcoming Noblesse Season 2.
Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Cast:
Most of the major characters will be reprising their roles in Tokyo Revengers Season 2. Plus there will be a couple of new additions as well. We have:
