Tokyo Revengers, The Deer King And More at This Year’s Fantasia Film Festival

Fantasia has got to be one of the most anticipated film festivals of the year. With the diverse genre and film line-up, it has become famed all over the world. And this year, they’re bringing some class-apart anime films to the event!

Films like Tokyo Revengers live-action, The Deer King, and the short anime film Fire Craft are some of the most awaited movies of 2021. And now the whole world will be able to enjoy their brilliance.

Fantasia International Film Festival announced that the Tokyo Revengers live-action film, The Deer King, and Hizukuri (Fire Craft) would make their international and North American premiere.

The live-action Tokyo Revengers movie will be making an international debut outside of Japan at the festival for the first time! Whereas The Deer King and Hizukuri will be making their North American debut.

Nahoko Uehashi’s The Deer King has already been screened at this year’s Annecy Film Festival. Now it will be making a global premiere on September 10th, 2021.

The short film Hizukuri or Fire Craft is Naoki Matsuura’s 10-min long masterpiece. It had an original release date in November 2017 but was postponed due to some reasons. 

And now it will finally have a North American premiere this year. 

The Deer King and Hizukuri films are nominated for the Satoshi Kon Award for Achievement in Animation. Hizakuri will be competing in the Short Film Category, and Deer King will be competing in the Feature Film Category.

Along with these, some fantastic films will also be premiering at the festival this year. These include:
