A list of the five most content antagonists in anime.
Nui Harime (Kill La Kill)
Despite being the most depraved antagonist in Kill La Kill, Nui Harime maintained an upbeat demeanor. Even while she was killing Ryuko’s father or mocking her for it, she couldn’t keep a straight face. Nui’s character was especially frustrating because she let very little affect her mood.
Ryuko had to go through a long process of self-discovery before she could strike back effectively, and even then she was unable to exact justice for her father. Nui, who gave her life at Ragyo’s behest, had the last laugh when she prevented the heroes from exacting their revenge.
Kenny Ackerman (Attack On Titan)
Because of his unconventional outlook on life, Kenny Ackerman (arguably) is the happiest person in Attack on Titan. He treated the Military Police as a hobby and did not take most things seriously. Kenny argued that the key to finding happiness was to pursue one’s true passions.
For him, this meant going into battle, particularly if doing so would improve his long-term chances. In the end, Kenny was rarely irritable, and the one time he lost his temper was when he learned that Rod Reiss had lied to him in order to keep him safe.
The Major (Hellsing)
The Major may be Hellsing’s most heinous and merciless antagonist, but he enjoys every minute of it. His Millennium Organization never considered the destruction of London to be a top goal. He set out to kill and destroy as many people as possible, regardless of their identities.
The Major never lost his optimistic outlook, even as Alucard and Integra gradually uncovered his schemes. Since he didn’t care about dying, not even the heroes’ breach of the zeppelin could remove the rictus from his face. After all, the robot that now represents him was first constructed long ago.
