About the Music Video of Gyoko no Nikuko-chan
The film has also just revealed a new music video for “Image no Uta.” The song is in fact the debut single of the singer and composer Takuro Yoshida (Jun– Cromartie High School).
The music video is like a timelapse series of montages of the everyday life of the mother-daughter duo. It starts with Miu and a young Nikuko, who is easily deceived by the promises of love. Time cuts to Nikuko and her own daughter Kikuko leading a calm and peaceful life. Kikuko also grows up eventually and it is as much about her as it is about her mother.
Little things such as eating good food or Nikuko working in the Yakiniku shop; Sassan (the owner) looking at them with paternal affection etc. sets the tone for the music video. The MV reflects the theme of the movie by magnifying the nuances that make life peaceful and beautiful. It is indeed a reflection of the everyday life of a small and peaceful fishing town.
Do check it out to get a glimpse of their world!
