The 190th chapter of Vinland Saga started with the discussion about the fate of the Jomsvikings. Vargar noted that ever since Throfinn disbanded them, they had nothing that would feed their households. Thus, most of them resorted to joining the pirate groups. In the present, Vargar found out that a ship carrying large amounts of gold was coming their way. But it turned out that the capture was a huge failure. The King of Denmark’s warships trapped them. But Vargar was relieved to see that Thorfinn was the commander of the ships.
Being the man who had disbanded them in the first place, he felt a moral obligation towards those people. Thus, he ordered the men to abide and join King Canute. Vargar later tells Throfinn that all these men had been preparing for Ragnarok for most of their lives. And thus, most of the Jomsvikings joined Thorfinn in building a new nation. Towards the end of the chapter, Thorfinn, Vargar, and Norns joked about the new crop and the future of the Nordic people.
