The virtual idol is not just receiving an anime, but a webtoon adaptation is also in the talks.

The pandemic gave an impetus to the already rising popularity of virtual celebrities. They are even hired as representatives of events or companies.

Crypton Future Media, the developer of Hatsune Miku, has recently announced that the virtual idol will be inspiring an anime series.

Crypton Future Media is also partnering with Graphis India and Carlin West Agency for original webtoon and comics series.

Guillaume Devigne, the overseas licensing director of Crypton Future Media, has commented that they have found a unique way to create an animated series that will also stay true to the essence of Miku.

Saki Fujita voices miku, but her personality has been made by a combination of features that were decided by a fan poll.

According to Devigne, Miku is the “perfect vessel for fan creativity and unlimited opportunities for artistic expression.” The decision to branch out into new media adaptations will no doubt make Miku’s fans immensely pleased.
