The latest season of Attack on Titan (i.e. Season 4) has received overwhelmingly positive reception for its amazing fight scenes. Originally a manga created by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan has amassed a huge fan following even within non-weeb circles. Each episode of the fourth season of Attack on Titan is getting released every week.
The first episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 got released on 7 December 2020. There is a list of 16 episodes tentatively. Originally planned to be the last season, it seems unlikely that this fourth season will be the last.
The latest episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 was supposed to be released on March 17, 2021. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the studio has released a statement saying that it’s getting delayed.
So, let’s take a close look at what happened and what this means for the future of Attack on Titan anime.
Earthquake in Japan
Apparently, there was a 4.7 magnitude earthquake in Wakayama, Japan. Because of this, Studio MAPPA delayed the release of AoT Season 4 Episode 14 to allow higher coverage of the earthquake. We all know how pesky and obstructive anime news coverage can be for many people in need.
As all the broadcasting stations got busy with earthquake coverage, this episode couldn’t get the required publicity. This is another possible reason behind the delay in the release of the latest episode.
However, fortunately, it seems highly unlikely that the releases of other episodes will get delayed. The releases of the remaining episodes are likely to progress as planned.
When is Season 4 Episode 14 getting released then?
AoT Season 4 Episode 14 will get released together with the subsequent episode, Episode 15. So, fans can rejoice that they’ll get to watch both episodes together on the same day. Both the episodes will get their release on Funimation right after they get aired in Japan.
