Will Black Clover Anime be Canceled in 2020?
Yes, we are talking about your favorite Black Clover anime. No, you didn’t read the title wrong. The popular Black Clover anime series has recently been the source of a lot of spicy rumors. The major one among those is that the Black Clover anime will be canceled soon.
It comes as a shock to us all, especially since the series itself is currently among the best ongoing ones. It has presently delved into some filler episodes. However, that alone can never be enough to put the anime down.
Even though official sources like the animation studio or production house haven’t issued any news yet, the unofficial leaks are many.
So let’s discuss in detail the case of Black Clover anime’s supposed cancellation:
Unofficial Twitter Sources & Staff Repositioning
According to some trusted Twitter sources, the staff of the Black Clover anime, including the director, have all moved on to new projects. This happens only when no further episodes of a series are left to animate. Or when the creators don’t order more episodes/seasons to be made. Even the animation staff have reportedly moved on.
The Black Clover anime is currently in its 10th arc, and it still has a lot of the story to cover.
Another leaker from Twitter, “Spy,” also stated something which made the fans worried even more. What will be the fate of Black Clover after 2020?

Clash Between Tabata And Anime Staff
The Black Clover anime has included a lot of filler episodes. These episodes weren’t included in the manga and are being used to keep the audience hooked. However, these filler episodes are also used so that the anime doesn’t catch up to the manga too soon.
Apparently, Yuki Tabata (Black Clover’s author) is very dissatisfied with the excessive freedom of the anime staff. As the anime is currently going through filler episodes, the animators have bent the story to their will.
In episodes 133 and 136, Leopold and Noel used powers that should not have been available to them yet, according to the manga timeline.
This made both Tabata and his editor very uncomfortable. Although this alone cannot be a factor behind the anime’s cancellation, it certainly adds fuel to the fire.
Black Clover fans are heartbroken over the situation, and we can’t say anything for sure yet. It may be possible that the anime is just going on another delay till the manga gains some momentum.
