Will Law Escape from Blackbeard’s Clutches and Survive?
There has been a huge shift in the power structure in the world of One Piece following the Wano Country arc. After the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom, the younger pirates from the Worst Generation are all set to conquer the seas of the New World.
The power-hungry members of the Worst Generation will inevitably clash with each other. Oda already set the stage for the final fight within The Worst Generation, with Blackbeard attacking Trafalgar D. Water Law after he leaves Wano.
The Blackbeard Pirates effectively back the Heart Pirates into a corner, leaving them with no means of escape. Will Law finally fall into Blackbeard’s clutches? I don’t think so.
Law will be able to escape from Blackbeard because he might have SWORD as a backup. Law is probably pretending he was unaware of the ambush. In reality, he was probably tipped off about Blackbeard’s activities by SWORD and Drake, since he treated Drake after the raid.
Instead of running away from the fight, it’s possible that Law set up a trap for Marshall with Drake’s help. They can take out Marshall and rescue Koby at the same time, killing two birds with one stone.
It remains to be seen whether Law will escape or not. Check out what went down between Law and Blackbeard in the manga so far, and whether Law can defeat one of the Four Emperors all by himself.
Trafalgar Law vs Blackbeard: What happened so far
Blackbeard is a cunning and opportunistic pirate who’s willing to use any means to get what he wants. Currently, he has set his eyes on obtaining the Road Poneglyphs.
After Luffy, Law, and Kid leave Wano, Blackbeard comes to know that some members of the Worst Generation possess Road Poneglyphs. His ultimate goal is to ambush these members one by one, steal their Poneglyphs, and make copies of them.
Unfortunately, Law ended up becoming Blackbeard’s very first target. Doc Q, one of the Blackbeard pirates, attacks the Heart Pirates with his Shiku Shiku no Mi, transforming the Heart Pirates into women.
Thankfully, Law uses a huge amount of Haki to counteract Shiku Shiku no Mi’s effects and manages to change back to his original self.
But the fight is far from over. Blackbeard steps into the fight as well, challenging Law to a battle.
Will Blackbeard defeat Law?
Blackbeard will defeat Law since his crew has the power of Devil Fruits. Meanwhile, Law needed some help to defeat Big Mom. He might have grown in terms of strength after his fight with Big Mom, but Blackbeard is surely stronger than him, since he’s one of the Yonko.
Oda also introduced Blackbeard Pirates’ multiple Devil Fruit powers in Chapter 1063. As a result, we can see a distinct gap between the strength of Heart Pirates and Blackbeard Pirates. A list of the multiple Devil Fruits which were introduced in Chapter 1063 is given below:
- Doc Q has Shiku Shiku no Mi which can spread diseases.
- Burgess has Riki Riki no Mi which grants him superhuman strength.
- Van Auger can use teleportation powers using Wapu Wapu no Mi.
Meanwhile, Law has no one to rely on. He has to do all the heavy lifting by himself. Most of the members of his crew don’t even have Devil Fruit powers.
This means he will have to fight against four to five Devil Fruit users alone. He won’t be able to fight so many enemies at once, so his defeat is pretty much set in stone.
Will Blackbeard take away Law’s Devil Fruit?
Blackbeard won’t take away Law’s Devil Fruit, because his goals are different. His primary goal is to steal the Road Poneglyphs, not Ope Ope no Mi. Besides, it’s pointless for him to steal Ope Ope no Mi since almost everyone in his crew has a Devil Fruit of their own.
Each Devil Fruit can have only one user, so Blackbeard will have to kill Law to obtain his Devil Fruit. However, Oda doesn’t have a reputation for killing off the major characters for fun, so we can rest easy because Law won’t die yet.
