World Trigger Manga Takes One-Month Break as Mangaka’s Health Worsens
Just as Suwa had Osamu’s anxiety under control and the next chapter bore a promise of team performance, the World Trigger manga announced another break.
This is neither the first break that the manga is on nor will it be the last. Ashihara-sensei’s unstable health has acted up many times before, and I just hope that he does not overwork himself for the sake of the series.
Chapter 214 of the World Trigger manga is on a one-month break. The upcoming chapter was initially scheduled for release on October 3, 2021. Yet, author Daisuke Ashihara’s health issues have delayed the release date to November 3, 2021.
Jump SQ, the magazine that publishes the manga, tweeted regarding the break. Viz Media’s website also cites the delayed release date.
To our readers
The cover of the November oversized issue released on October 4th is “World Trigger”, but the main part of the manga will be suspended due to the author’s sudden illness.
It will be published in the December oversized issue.
We are very sorry, but thank you.

Ashihara-sensei has taken several one-month breaks in the past couple of years. World Trigger’s last break was in February and April this year.
Since the manga is released on a monthly basis, many fans can’t help but be disappointed. Yet, we all support the mangaka wholeheartedly and wish for his speedy recovery.
World Trigger Chapter 214: Release Date, Delay, Discussion
World Trigger’s mangaka has suffered from cervical spondylosis, gall bladder surgeries, and various other related issues. Chapters 212 and 213 were published simultaneously despite his limitations.
Chapter 214 will test the mettle of all the squads. The next chapter might be on a break, but I’m sure that Suwa and Osamu’s partnership will not let us down.
About World Trigger
World Trigger, also known in short form as WorTri, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 to November 2018 and later transferred to Jump Square in December 2018.
A mysterious white-haired kid named Yūma Kuga gets transferred to the local school. Turns out, Kuga is actually a humanoid or ‘neighbor.’ In school, he becomes friends with another student, Osamu Mikumo, who is, in fact, an undercover C-class Border trainee. Mikumo becomes the perfect guide for Kuga to save him from being discovered by Border.
