Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki’s Season 4 has been Green-Lit for 2022

Be it the US or Japan, accents and dialects differ in every part of a country, and people worldwide can relate to this.

Talking about Japan, the one that stands out in this context is Nagoya. As you’d expect, we have an anime on this too, and it’s called Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki.

The visual features Yatogame-chan in the center with her friends Yanna Sasatsu and Mai Tadakusa by her side. Even though it’s a picture, I can hear the three of them announcing the season in their Nagoya dialect.

The anime has another protagonist, Jin Kaito, Yatogame’s senpai and a transfer student from Tokyo.

Initially, Jin thought he’d get to experience the culture and essence of Nagoya, but was let down when he found out that it’s just a smaller version of Tokyo.

His opinion was utterly shattered when he met Monaka, who’s a typical Nagoya local. Monaka’s cat-like appearance and local dialect charmed and intrigued the Tokyo boy, who then got to experience the city’s true nature and beauty.

This cute comedy series that expresses so many thoughts and emotions in just a few minutes will continue to entertain us, and I cannot be happier about it. 

I missed the endearingly hilarious exchanges involving Jin and Yatogame, and I honestly cannot wait for the new season.

Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki is a four-panel manga by Masaki Ando published in the Monthly Comics Rex magazine. It has an anime adaptation with three seasons and an upcoming fourth season.

Yatogame-chan is a high school girl with cat ears and a blatant Nagoya accent. Jin Kaito has just moved to Nagoya from Tokyo and meets Yatogame-chan.

She doesn’t seem to be opening up to Jin at all. The popular comedy teaches us about the different cultures in Japan.
