New Anime Based on ‘Doctor Elise’ to Debut in 2024
It has become increasingly prevalent to believe that one might be reborn as a different person and begin a new life. However, the Korean manhwa ‘Doctor Elise’ adds a new dimension to the story: time travel. The protagonist, a young doctor, has flashbacks to her time as the avaricious and envious Emperor’s first wife.
She hoped that by helping people in her new life as a doctor, she could make amends for her past mistakes. However, she dies in a plane crash and is reborn as…the emperor’s wife once more.
The first teaser for the upcoming ‘Doctor Elise’ (also known as ‘Surgeon Elise’) anime was released on Thursday on the show’s official website. In addition to revealing the series’ core cast, the teaser trailer also provided a release timeframe for the show: January 2024.
The video’s heroine, Dr. Song Jihyun, reflects on her background and career as a doctor. She’s in a plane that’s ready to crash. She prays she won’t die. She then returns to life as her previous incarnation, Elise.
The couple’s engagement is broken off and she pursues a career in medicine instead. The prince is determined to carry on. Graham, the third protagonist, questions when she first started practicing medicine.

I find the concept of reincarnation to be fascinating. The story’s emphasis on the doctor’s achievements also lends it the air of a medical fantasy. In addition, the manhwa concluded in 2021, therefore a condensed and comprehensive adaptation is to be anticipated.

Yuin has authored a web book titled “Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp” that is popular in South Korea. KakaoPage ran a serialization of a manhwa adaptation illustrated by mini from September 2017 to February 2021.
The protagonist, Elise, is a reincarnated girl who has had three previous lives. After being put to death as a bad ruler, she reincarnates as a modern-day surgeon to make amends for her faults.
Elise is tragically reverted to her original existence on one fateful day. Using what she has learned about contemporary medicine, she begins her search for forgiveness once more.
