Ashoka Episode 2 Ending Confirms a Massive Admiral Thrawn Spoiler!
Ashoka episode 2’s ending confirms a massive Admiral Thrawn spoiler and reveals the outcome of Morgan Elsbeth’s grand quest in her new vessel.
As we all know, Thrawn disappeared in the Star Wars Rebels finale, and his flagship was lost in hyperspace. He’s been missing for over nine years now, and the Imperial Remnants are feeling his loss because of his inhuman battle skills.
Episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka reveal that Thrawn and his flagship were dragged by the mysterious purrgils along their migration path to a faraway galaxy to a state of no return.
However, they are not entirely lost. Morgan Elsbeth has built a new ship to chase him through the dark void between the galaxies. She calls it the Eye of Sion, which uses the same technology as the Jedi hyperspace rings from the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
The Eye of the Sion integrates the mechanism of hyperspace drives from Super Star Destroyers, some of the most powerful in the galaxy and makes hyperspace travel possible.
However, the most notable feature of the Eye of the Sion is its iconic golden bridge, and that’s how we can identify the massive Thrawn spoiler in the episode.
Lucasfilm doesn’t initially reveal Grand Admiral Thrawn’s face in the first glimpse. He is simply shown standing on the distinctive golden bridge with the camera angle showing his back. Initially, it was thought that the bridge was linked to the location of the allies he had gained, and even concept arts were made on this assumption.
However, it is clear now that he is standing on the iconic bridge of the Eye of Sion. This image and concept art essentially confirm the outcome of Morgan’s quest.
To be honest, this shouldn’t come as a surprise for the wide-eyed fans. Lucasfilm has introduced one of the most fascinating ideas in the Star Wars saga, one that has the potential to change the face of the franchise in years to come. We are talking about introducing a brand new galaxy, one that is not the ‘galaxy far, far away.’
It would be absurd for the franchise to introduce this concept and not explore it in the most lucrative way possible. This is presumably why Lucasfilm let such a massive spoiler slip in the first place.
However, this may have significant implications for the rest of the story. This essentially means that Ashoka will fail to stop Morgan, and the Nightsister will successfully make the jump to intergalactic space.
So, how will Ashoka manage to get herself and her allies there?
Maybe they’ll latch onto the Eye of Sion and take the bumpy ride to Peridea. Alternatively, they can also take the help of the purrgils to follow Morgan into the new galaxy.
A new adventure awaits Star Wars as it crosses the cosmic abyss and explores a whole new galaxy, something that has never happened before.
The Jedi have heard of Peridea only as a legend – and so has Ahsoka. However, Morgan hints that there is more to Peridea than the Jedi know. She even implies that the dark witches of Dathomir call it by another name.
However, she does not dare to utter that name, perhaps because it is something the Jedi fear, something unspeakably sinister. The possibilities are endless!
In the first Star Wars film, Obi-Wan Kenobi claimed that the Force binds the entire galaxy together.
However, what happens when we venture beyond the galaxy? Perhaps the power of the Force doesn’t exist in that realm, which could explain the strange powers of the Nightsisters of Dathomir. They use a kind of magic that is nothing like the abilities of the Jedi and Sith.
The second episode of Ahsoka hints at these unusual powers when Morgan activates the starmap with Nightsister magic. This means that Peridea is likely a perilous and hostile place for Ashoka and her allies.
However, the greatest threat may be Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has been exploring the secrets of the ancient aliens from this planet. Thrawn may have joined forces with them, betraying the Empire for a darker, older power from another galaxy.
Ashoka is likely in for a rough life as she prepares to confront enemies no one in the Star Wars galaxy has ever faced before. Will she come out all guns blazing? Or will she die a horrible death?
Keep watching Ashoka’s new episodes every Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT to find out. Ciao!
