Arakawa Announced Brand New Fullmetal Alchemist Project For 20 Anniversary
While telling a story of two brothers on a journey, Fullmetal Alchemist ties us into the living world of magic, science, and sins.
Though I fail to grasp why time moves so quickly, it has been 20 years since Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa was first published in the Monthly Shōnen Gangan.
The anniversary is a joyous occasion for all the series fans, and the mangaka knows this too. So recently, there has been a bit more buzz around FMA.
Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa is set to get a new project to commemorate the 20th anniversary, according to a new illustration released in the Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine.
The mangaka will disclose further details about the project at a later date.
The illustrations depict all the central characters of the series in a celebratory mood. We have the Elric brothers and Olivier Mira Armstrong, Mustang, and his subordinate Hawkeye from the top. Down below, we have Alex Louis Armstrong covering the ground.
There are also May Chang and her panda Shao along with Scar scattered on the top. On the far right side of the poster, we have Sig Curtis along with sensei Izumi Curtis, Ling Yao, and Winfrey.

On the far left side, we can catch Van Hohenheim sneaking around.
The Fullmetal Alchemist poster is packed full of characters and will feature as the cover of the Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in the upcoming issue.
The series follows the adventures of the Elric brothers as they search for an artifact called the Philosopher’s Stone. However, through their journey, they will uncover a darker force pulling strings from behind the curtains.
Is Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood the Same?
The series’s captivating story of religion, gods, and science is a throwback to the Final Fantasy games made by Square Enix, the company where the series mangaka was an employee.
The Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine will likely disclose further details about the new FMA project. The magazine itself is very famous, as it prints Attack on Titan and many other top-tier shonen manga.
With the 20th anniversary, it’s the perfect time to catch up to the Fullmetal Alchemist Universe; whether you are into anime, manga, novels, or films, there is something for everyone.
